Death of Steve Jobs : Online scammers seek to profit

BOSTON - Online scammers are already trying to fake the death of Steve Jobs is a free iPads provide Facebook users with their memory.


Computer anti-virus company Sophos said that the scammers asked Facebook users to click a link to register for free by Apple Inc. products, when asked, they perform a survey or enter a gambling saitidele.Scammers profits when users click on these links, because they get a commission based on how much traffic they get to the site, said Graham Cluley, Sophos researchers.


While this scam is not related to computer viruses, online criminals plan more focused on the death of a malicious campaign jobs. "They might as well just take them to be users of a Web page that contains malicious code or a phishing site designed to steal credentials," Cluley said Sophos blog.


Scam, but the taste was not all that original. Computers attract scammers often prey linking the latest news or celebrity rumors about the tragedy that offer free products, packaging of these Facebook messages, tweets, or tainted e-mail.
